On December 14th, Project Velo Racing was recognized as USA Cycling's Best New Club of 2007. USA Cycling is the official cycling organization recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and is responsible for identifying, training and selecting cyclists to represent the United States in international competitions. PVR earned the Best New Club award by promoting three races during the year, including the Troy Classic, and conducting a series of bike skills, safety, and nutrition clinics for Troy youth throughout the summer. Project Velo Racing athletes also collected over 100 top-ten finishes in local and regional races including several state championship medals and the two silver medals at the 2007 cyclocross national championships
